Kittens Ready for Adoption

The King County Animal Care & Control shelter has many great foster cats ready to find their permanent homes, including Carson and Charlie, two kittens we are currently fostering. If you would like to adopt Carson and Charlie, please email dee dot cordell at kingcounty dot gov. This video includes some of the highlights of the kittens time in our home.

To socialize the kittens, we let them interact with our other cats and dog after they were old enough. Being around 5 months old, they love to play, and play hard. But when they've had their fun, they also love to snuggle and purr. Both are very calm and sweet, and ready to go into their forever home.

So cute....

Alas, we're both too far from you to adopt them, and we've just (well, late July anyway) adopted two kittens already. Both black as pitch and playful, the now 7-month old is Duncan, and the 6-month old is Mouse.

Still, good to see playful kittens and nice to see you and Dee as well.

Take care, man.

Better get them now before the change over to "No Kill". Then all you will see are sick kittens. Maybe they will kill them like they do in LA's no kill. Or turn them away so they reproduce the next year and flood the shelters and streets. And don't expect them to be socialized under "No Kill", the staff won't have time to do things like that. These kittens are lucky, they won't have to face "No Kill".

Despite the disappointing news, it's going to take a few years for the council's recommendations to move forward. During that time I plan on launching an awareness campaign, one blog, councilperson, and newspaper article at a time, on how supposed animal welfare professionals who push region-wide no-kill shelters are either a) dangerously ill-informed about their own industry or B) deceitful.

But yes, in the meantime, there are still over 400 animals in foster through the King County shelter, and we need to get them adopted out. Starting with these cute kittens!

Count me on your team, Bruce. I have info on Rancho Cucamonga who bought into the program that would open the eyes of any clear thinking person. Rancho is a public owned open door shelter that was a shining star in the Inland Empire of Southern CA prior to Whino-grad. Not any longer. Be glad to fill you in with this info.
